Marco Postinghel

Marco Postinghel (* 1968 in Bolzano ) is an Italian bassoonist and music teacher.

Postinghel began his musical training in Bolzano with Romano Santi and then studied with Klaus Thunemann in Hanover. After teaching at the Conservatorio Benedetto Marcello in Venice for three years , he completed his training at the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra . He was also a member of the European Community Youth Orchestra from 1986 to 1991 . He then became principal bassoonist of the Orchester de Paris and in 1994 of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra .

He has won prizes at numerous international competitions and has played bassoon concerts all over Europe, South America, Korea and Japan under the direction of conductors such as Semyon Bychkov , Carlo Maria Giulini , Kent Nagano , Lorin Maazel , Wolfgang Sawallisch and Franz Welser-Möst . As a chamber musician , he has performed with Yefim Bronfman , Juri Bashmet , Natalja Gutman , Heinz Holliger , Gidon Kremer , András Schiff and Tabea Zimmermann and is a member of the Mullova Ensemble and the Ensemble Les Nations . In addition to the classical repertoire, he also plays baroque music on historical instruments with the Concerto Italiano , the English Baroque Soloists , I Barocchisti , the Accademia Bizantina and the Ensemble Musica Saeculorum and works by contemporary composers with the Ensemble Ricerca Nuova and the Ensemble Modern .

Postinghel is professor at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, teaches at the Mahler Academy and the Scuola di musica di Fiesole and gives master classes for bassoon and chamber music in Germany, Finland, France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Korea and Japan. As a juror he participated in the ARD international music competition .
