Status: end of career

Marcos Camozzato (born June 17, 1983 in Porto Alegre ) is a former Brazilian soccer player with an Italian passport.

Career

Camozzato began his career in the youth of SC Internacional , where he was brought into the first team in 2003. In his first seasons in 2003 and 2004, he hardly received any match practice. In 2005 it was awarded to SER Caxias do Sul . When he returned to his home club, the club was runner-up. In January 2007 he moved to Belgium to Standard Liege .

In his first half season, third place in the final table and the cup final could be achieved. In the following season, the club became champions and won the Supercup. The Italian-Brazilian also made his debut at European club level when he was used from the start in the second round of qualifying for the UEFA Cup on August 16, 2007 against UN Käerjéng from Luxembourg . The game in Luxembourg ended in a 3-0 win. Camozzato was substituted on for Landry Mulemo in the 85th minute . In the end, the team was eliminated in the first round of the competition.

In 2008/09 the championship title and the Supercup victory could be defended. In qualifying for the UEFA Champions League , the team failed at Liverpool FC . In the UEFA Cup, the club was eliminated in the third round against Sporting Braga from Portugal . 2009/10 was a less successful year for Camozzato and Standard. Although the team made it to the quarter-finals in the UEFA Europa League (the club lost overall score to Hamburger SV (2: 5), the team only finished eighth in the regular championship. In the play-off for the Europa League places in group B only reached second place and thus the club could not qualify for the international competition, so Camozzato left Les Rouches and moved to Bruges.

He played there for two years and then briefly moved back to his native Brazil to AA Ponte Preta . From 2013 to 2015 he was under contract with KSV Roeselare and ended his active career there.
