Marcos Paquetá (born August 27, 1958 ) is a former Brazilian soccer player and current coach .

Paquetá was active as a player for the clubs America FC and Vasco da Gama from Rio de Janeiro . After finishing his playing career, he worked as a youth coach in Brazil. First at Flamengo Rio de Janeiro , then also as junior national coach of the U-17 and U-20 teams in Brazil. In 2003 he won the soccer world championship with these teams in a row. In 2004 he went to Saudi Arabia to join the Al-Hilal club and in 2005 became the Saudi Arabian champion. In December 2005, the coach of the Saudi Arabian national team Gabriel Calderón was dismissed despite successful qualification for the 2006 World Cup and Paquetá was his successor. At the World Cup, Saudi Arabia was eliminated as the bottom group in the preliminary round. In 2007 Paquetá took over the Qatari club Al-Gharafa , with whom he was champion in the Qatar Stars League in 2008 and 2009 . In July 2009 Paquetá signed a two-year contract with the Qatari club Al-Rayyan Sports Club . In July 2010 he took over the national team of Libya .

2018 Paquetá took over the Botafogo FR on June 25th .
