Marcus Grate (born December 27, 1996 ) is a Swedish cross-country skier .

Career

Grate, who competes for IFK Umeå , ran his first races in the Scandinavian Cup in Östersund in January 2013 and finished 238th in the sprint and 199th place in the 15 km freestyle. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2016 in Râşnov , he achieved 42nd place over 15 km freestyle and 15th place in the sprint. He made his debut in the World Cup in March 2018 in Lahti , which he finished in 35th place in the sprint. In the same month he was in Skellefteå together with Teodor Peterson Swedish champion in the team sprint. At the U23 World Championships in Lahti in 2019 , he ran to 58th place in the 15 km freestyle, 57th place in the 30 km mass start race and sixth place in the sprint. In February 2019 he took his first World Cup points in Cogne with sixth place in the sprint. In the 2019/20 season, he finished in the points in all six World Cup sprint competitions and thus achieved 48th place in the overall World Cup and 16th place in the Sprint World Cup. He also achieved his first podium finish in the World Cup in Dresden together with Johan Häggström with second place in the team sprint.
