Marcus Basskran Schloussen (born April 26, 1954 - December 1, 2019 ) was a German rock musician and bassist in the group Renft .

Schloussen grew up in a musical family. His mother was an opera singer and he came into contact with classical music at an early age. After graduating from the Friedrichshain Music School, he learned the trade of a chemical specialist . In 1978 Schloussen founded the rock band Setzei with Reinhard Schossig and played the electric bass there until he switched to the Reform group in 1982 .

At the Academy of Music "Hanns Eisler" Berlin Schloussen acquired a further degree. There was a close collaboration with the singer-songwriter Barbara Thalheim . Schloussen was a freelance musician. He was committed to theaters in Frankfurt (Oder) , Nordhausen , Gera , Zittau and others. In the group heureka , a chamber music association founded in 1981, he played the electric bass and the double bass . Guest appearances with this association have taken him to Bulgaria , Hungary , France , Denmark , Switzerland and Austria .

From 1999 Schloussen was an integral part of the Renft group. He died after a long illness on December 1, 2019 at the age of 65.
