Marduk Buscher

Marduk Buscher (born March 7, 1959 in Wuppertal - Elberfeld ) is a German media scientist and entrepreneur.

Career

Marduk Buscher graduated from high school in 1978 with distinction. He then studied German , history and art history in Wuppertal and passed his master's degree at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelm University in Bonn with a thesis on "Realism in the Artistic Process".

After completing his studies, Buscher initially worked as a freelancer for Südwestfunk in Baden-Baden . In addition to various projects for the 40th anniversary of the station, he completed the postgraduate training as a scientific documentary at the teaching institute for documentation in Frankfurt am Main . From 1988 he and his sole proprietorship "Buscher Documentation Service" took on outsourcing projects for Südwestfunk in the areas of information and documentation , press and public relations work, and media research .

At the beginning of the 90s, Marduk Buscher founded the companies Media Tec GmbH, Media Trend GmbH and Media Consult Buscher GmbH. Today the group of companies operates u. a. Merchandising , wholesaling of promotional items, media research, IT support, advertising graphics , database and archive services. In 2003, the group moved into the Media + IT Center in Baden-Baden, which Buscher co-founded. Today it employs around 60 permanent employees and around ten freelancers. The customer base includes all ARD stations, municipalities, associations, clubs and small and medium-sized industrial companies.

In 2007, Buscher was appointed to the Federal Economic Senate by the Federal Association of Medium-Sized Enterprises. After his doctorate as Dr. phil. he received a teaching position at the Technical University of Berlin on the subject of "Writing School Online Journalism: Lion Feuchtwanger's 124th Birthday". To this end, he was appointed the first "Senator hc" of the Bellheim Society's Economic Senate.

In 2013 Marduk Buscher donated the “Buscher Media Future Prize” for the first time to promote future-oriented projects. The 2013 prize winner is the General German Bicycle Club.
