Maren Kristin Henseler (born November 14, 1983 in Bielefeld ) is a former soccer player .
Sports
Henseler initially played for SV Union Rösrath and came to TuS Köln rrh via TuRa Dieringhausen and Berry College . In the seasons 2005/06 to 2007/08 she played for these three years in the 2nd Bundesliga South and was on the field in 34 league games during this period. In the 2007/08 season she reached the semi-finals of the DFB Cup with the team , but they lost 2-0 to 1. FC Saarbrücken . The striker has been playing for Bayer 04 Leverkusen since the 2008/09 season, after the women's soccer department of TuS Köln rrh. had dissolved and moved to Leverkusen. With Leverkusen, she completed two more seasons as captain in the 2nd Bundesliga South before she was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga with her club in the 2010/11 season . There she came on as a substitute in the 69th minute of the game against FCR 2001 Duisburg on the first matchday, making her debut in the first division. After the 2010/11 season, Henseler ended her career.
In the summer of 2009, Henseler took part in the Universiade in Belgrade with the German national student team.

Henseler studied history in the United States and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Berry College, Georgia . Back in Europe, she studied law at the Universities of Bonn and Toulouse I and passed her first state examination in 2010. She then worked as a research assistant at Michael Sachs' chair at the University of Cologne . In 2015 she received her doctorate with a thesis on the legal dimensions of the nationwide stadium ban . She has been working as a lawyer since 2018.
