Margaret Truman Daniel
Mary Margaret Truman Daniel (born February 17, 1924 in Independence , Missouri , † January 29, 2008 in Chicago , Illinois ) was an American actress and author.
Margaret Daniel was the only daughter from the marriage of US President Harry S. Truman and Bess Truman . In 1956 she married the journalist Clifton Daniel, with whom she had four sons. Her career as a singer began in 1954. As a writer, she wrote a. a. a book about pets in the White House , a biography about her father and the first mystery novel, Murder in the White House. Other bestsellers followed. After the White House in 1980, the locations for the “Murder in the / at the ...” series were Capitol Hill (1981), the Supreme Court (1982), the Smithsonian (1983), the Pentagon (1992) and the Library of Congress (1999). The National Cathedral was also selected, in 1990 when the neo-Gothic structure was completed.
