Cave Church of the Annunciation

The Church of the Annunciation (French: Église de l'Annonciation ) in Haute-Isle , a French commune in the Val-d'Oise department in the Île-de-France region , was built in 1670. The cave church , which was carved into the limestone above the Seine at Départementstrasse 931, has been on the list of architectural monuments in France as Monument historique since 1926 .

The church is about eight meters wide and 23 meters long. It has an average height of eight meters. It is the only cave church in the Île-de-France region. The single-nave room is closed off by a barrel vault and lit by four windows carved into the rock. The choir is separated by a floor-to-ceiling wooden choir screen. The wooden altar dates from 1670.

A small bell tower was built above the church at a later time.
