Maria-Sibylla Lotter (born August 9, 1961 in Kassel ) is a German philosopher.

Life

Maria-Sibylla Lotter studied philosophy, religious studies and ethnology as a scholarship holder of the Evangelisches Studienwerk Villigst in Freiburg im Breisgau , Berlin and St. Louis . In 1994 she received her doctorate from the Technical University of Berlin on Alfred North Whitehead . Between 1989 and 1999 she taught as a research assistant in Berlin and Heidelberg. She then taught at various universities in Germany and Switzerland and completed her habilitation in 2010 at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Zurich . Lotter was appointed professor for ethics and aesthetics at the Ruhr University Bochum in 2014 .
