Maria Aebersold

Maria Aebersold (born Maria Hufschmid ; born November 6, 1908 in Basel , † January 1, 1982 in Basel or Binningen ) was a Swiss writer and journalist .

Live and act

Maria Aebersold studied at the University of Leiden and after marrying in 1929 lived in Indonesia for ten years . She "wrote humorous stories and other prose texts relating to Basel as well as children's books" in dialect . She was also an organist , wrote newspaper columns and worked regularly on the radio . Her works The Enchanted Drum and From Heaven, From the Sea, From Somewhere have been translated into English .
