Maria Alessandra Albertini

Maria Alessandra Albertini (born March 15, 1961 ) is a San Marinese diplomat . She has been her country's ambassador to the Holy See since 2016 .

Life

Maria Alessandra Albertini studied law at the University of Urbino and completed a postgraduate degree in preparation for a diplomatic career at the Foundation for Research and International Studies in Florence ( Fondazione di Ricerche e Studi Internazionali a Firenze ). She was first in the Department of Foreign Affairs of San Marino (1989-1993), later in the Department of Political Affairs (1993).

From 1997 to 2014 she was President of the National Committee for UNICEF San Marino (1997–2014). She was also the non-resident ambassador to the Republic of Malta and the Republic of Cyprus from 2000 to 2006. From 2006 to 2012 she worked in the Department of Cultural Affairs in San Marino. From 2012 to 2014 she coordinated relations with the Council of Europe . In 2012 she took over the management of the Legal Department, with the rank of Minister Plenipotentiary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Since April 14, 2016 she has been the non-resident ambassador of San Marino to the Holy See when she presented the credentials to Pope Francis .
