Maria Graf
Maria Graf (* 1956 in Munich ) is a German harpist .
Life
At the age of eleven she learned to play the harp, which she later studied with Ursula Lendtrodt in Munich and with Pierre Jamet in Paris.
Maria Graf gained her first experience playing with orchestras with the Munich Philharmonic under Sergiu Celibidache and as a solo harpist with the Berlin Philharmonic under Herbert von Karajan . Since then she has also played with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Saxon State Orchestra Dresden . As a soloist she was invited to the Salzburg and Berlin festivals as well as to Gidon Kremer's chamber music festival Lockenhaus .
With partners such as Irena Grafenauer , Gidon Kremer , Tabea Zimmermann and Giora Feidman , she plays in a chamber music line- up.
Maria Graf held a professorship at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater from 1988 to 1997, and since 1997 she has been working at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin .
