The tinnitus respiratory therapy (TAT) according to Holl

The TAT according to Holl is an alternative medical treatment method. In the TAT according to Holl (also: Tinnitus breathing training according to Holl), the participants learn on the one hand stress-avoiding strategies of lifestyle and on the other hand regenerative relaxation, movement and breathing exercises. The exercises are intended to counteract tinnitus-accompanying symptoms such as mood swings, fears and withdrawal from work and private life, strengthen the personality and increase self-confidence. The exercises, which can be easily integrated into everyday life, should enable the patient to independently influence the intensity of the symptoms.

The effectiveness of the method was confirmed by the results of a scientific randomized study carried out by the University of Regensburg in 2011 . They were published in 2012 in the journal BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine under the name Mindfulness-and Body-Psychotherapy-based Group Treatment of Chronic Tinnitus: A Randomized Controlled Pilot Study . The method was also tested in a model test by the Guild Health Insurance Fund of North Rhine-Westphalia and is offered by the IKK, Actimonda and KKH as part of health courses and partially recognized with a treatment subsidy. It is not eligible .
