Maria Milde

Ilse Maria Milde (born March 3, 1921 in Leipzig ; † January 21, 2005 in Berlin ) was a German actress , voice actress , author and singer .

Life

She usually appeared without her first name and called herself Maria Milde . She made her first experiences in film in the mid-1940s. She made her debut in Spring Melody alongside Elga Brink and Hildegard Knef . From then on, Milde worked for theater, film and television. However, she was only ever seen in minor supporting roles. In addition, she also received singing lessons and had a few opera appearances, which, however, did not bring her a career breakthrough.

Maria Milde worked as a voice actress from time to time in the 1950s and 1960s. In 1959 she was the German dubbing voice of Sleeping Beauty in the Walt Disney film of the same name . This became her most famous role.

In the 1970s, Maria Milde retired from acting and became a writer. In 1978 she published her book Berlin Glienicker Brücke - Babelsberger Notes .

Maria Milde died in Berlin in 2005 at the age of 83. Her grave is in the Dahlem forest cemetery .
