Maria of Baden (1473–1519)
Maria von Baden (* July 2, 1473 ; † January 1519 ), a daughter of Margrave Christoph I and Ottilie von Katzenelnbogen , was a margravine of Baden .
Maria von Baden was the successor of her aunt Margaretha von Baden as abbess of the Lichtenthal monastery from 1496 to 1519 . During her tenure, she acquired half of the fiefdoms from Bühlertal and the hub at Ottersweier from Hans von Ramlingen . In 1509 she arranged for the parish Sandweier to be separated from its mother church in Iffezheim ; Sandweier became its own parish under the patronage of the monastery.
