Marian Duś

Marian Duś (born June 25, 1938 in Róża , Subcarpathian Voivodeship , Poland ) is auxiliary bishop emeritus in Warsaw .

Life

The Archbishop of Warsaw and Gniezno, Stefan Cardinal Wyszynski , ordained him on June 9, 1968 as a priest of the Archdiocese of Warsaw. In 1977 he became pastor of the parish of St. Peter and Paul and provost of the collegiate church of the same name in the Warsaw district of Pyry . In 1979 he became dean of the Piaseczno deanery .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Warsaw and titular bishop of Thenae on December 21, 1985 . The Archbishop of Warsaw and Gniezno, Józef Cardinal Glemp , donated him episcopal consecration on January 6 of the following year; Co- consecrators were Kazimierz Romaniuk , auxiliary bishop in Warsaw, and Władysław Miziołek , auxiliary bishop in Warsaw. His motto In cruce salus (“In the cross is salvation”) comes from the Good Friday liturgy .

On November 4, 2013, Pope Francis accepted his resignation due to reasons of age.
