Marian Velicu (* 4. July 1977 in Comana , Giurgiu County ) is a former Romanian boxers in the light flyweight .
successes
Marian Velicu won a bronze medal at the European Championships in Finland in May 2000 after he had fought his way to the semi-finals against Rudolf Dydi and Rafael Lozano and was eliminated there without a fight against Sergei Kasakow .
He was qualified for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney , where he defeated Ramazan Ballıoğlu from Turkey in the preliminary round, before failing in the round of 16 against Maikro Romero from Cuba.
In 2001 he won the silver medal at the World Championships in Northern Ireland . After victories against Veli Mumin, John Kinsella and Harry Tañamor , he got out without a fight in the final against Yan Barthelemí .
