Mariana was an ancient city on the island of Corsica . It was on the La Marana plateau on the side of the Guola River , near the northeast coast of the island. The city was about two miles from the sea.

The important Roman statesman and general Gaius Marius had around 100 BC. Create Mariana as a veterans' colony. Near La Canonicas was the decumanus (the east-west axis) of the city, to which a portico belonged. Various shops and houses from the imperial era were located here . In the west and east of the city center there are imperial necropolises . Graves of the republican settlement have not yet been found, but their existence is assured by finds of coins and black- varnished pottery.

Mariana was the seat of the diocese of Mariana from about 300 until it was united with the diocese of Accia in 1563 .
