Marianne Aasen (born February 21, 1967 in Bergen ) is a Norwegian politician ( Ap ).

life and career

Aasen was born in Bergen and grew up in Moss . In 1993 she graduated from the University of Oslo to cand.polit. majoring in political science , basic history and intermediate subject social economy . From 1991 to 1993 she worked as a journalist for the newspaper Arbeiderbladet and for Avisenes Nyhetsbyrå from 1993 to 1995. From 1998 to 2000 she was information director for the European Movement in Norway.

Aasen was political advisor for the Ap- Aktion im Storting from 1995 to 1996 and from 2001 to 2005. Under the Jens Stoltenberg I government from 2000 to 2001 she was a political advisor for the Ministry for Local Government and Regional Development. Aasen did not hold a local political office but was the chairwoman of the branch of the Arbeiderpartiet in Asker from 2003 to 2004 . In the 2005 general election , she was elected MP in the Akershus constituency.

In 1996 she married the international chess grandmaster and former international soccer player Simen Agdestein . The couple had two children but divorced in 2008.
