Marianne Dürst Benedetti

Marianne Dürst Benedetti (born January 24, 1961 , resident in Schwanden and Mühlehorn ) is a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

She graduated from the University of Zurich with a degree in law in 1991 and initially worked as a court clerk. In 1995 she was admitted to the bar in Glarus and opened her own law firm. In 1998 she was elected to the Glarus Government Council and until 2018 headed the Department of Economics and Home Affairs (formerly Directorate of the Interior ). During her term of office, among other things, the Glarus community reform fell . Since then she has been working as a chief judge .

From 2001 to March 1, 2008 she also served as President of the FDP Women Switzerland . On the occasion of the Glarner Landsgemeinde on May 4, 2008, she became the first woman in the Canton of Glarus to take up the post of Landammann . She handed over this function to Robert Marti on May 2, 2010 .
