The master builder Hans Jacob Messmer , who lived in the vicinity of Hans Ulrich Grubenmann , built the church, consecrated in 1761, in the Baroque style .
The Catholic Chapel of St. Fridolin was created around 1940 by converting the terrace of a historic villa on the lake.
Since July 1, 1859, Mühlehorn has been accessible by a railway line Rüti ZH - Rapperswil - Sargans . The resulting railway line Ziegelbrücke-Chur was moved into a tunnel after rock falls caused by marl mining . The railway tunnel was built by 1899 and the old railway line was converted into a non-asphalt road.
