Diesbach (in local dialect : [ d̥ɪə̯sːpɑχː ]) is a village in the Glarus hinterland in the political municipality of Glarus Süd in the Swiss canton of Glarus . Until December 31, 2003 Diesbach was an independent local community, which also included the neighboring village of Dornhaus. On January 1, 2004, she and Hätzingen came to the community of Luchsingen , which at the beginning of 2011 was merged into the new community of Glarus Süd.
The place name, first recorded as Diessbach in 1302 , has been transferred to the settlement from the nearby Diesbach (Linth).
