Marianne or Marianna Woitsch, the daughter of tax inspector Anton Woitsch and Anna, born. Grubhofer was born in house number 78 in Ottensheim. The sinologist Leopold Woitsch was her brother.

Marianne Woitsch was initially a teacher, but gave up her profession in favor of painting. She lived in Linz and took part in exhibitions at the Upper Austrian Art Association there since 1917 . She was also part of the circle around Oskar Sachsperger, who ran an “art salon” from 1919 to 1926. In 1935 she received the state prize for her life's work.

Marianne Woitsch was particularly valued as a painter of flower still lifes. But she also painted and drew landscapes and occasionally portraits.

In terms of color design, she undoubtedly benefited from Feldbauer, who developed the subject from his brush script. She mostly worked with a wider brush and captured her motifs without contours. In her still lifes, she sometimes lets the materiality of the arranged objects have a say. Vases and bowls made of shimmering glass stand next to shiny metal candlesticks, for example.

The state gallery of the Upper Austrian State Museum in Linz owns several works, including two landscapes from the Dachau Moos and a view of the port of Linz.
