Marie-Kathrin Melnitzky

Marie-Kathrin Melnitzky (* 1968 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian singer and harpist .

Marie-Kathrin Melnitzky performed at the Salzburg State Theater and took part in the Salzburg Festival as a child .

On April 23, 1985 she made a short appearance at a concert presentation of the second long-playing record of Dulamans Vröudenton in the Kaisersaal of the Salzburg residence, and since May 1987 she has been a permanent member of Dulamans Vröudenton as a harpist . With this ensemble for early music , she produced several recordings and made numerous television appearances ( ZDF , BBC , ORF ).

Marie-Kathrin Melnitzky studied baroque harp with Andrew Lawrence-King and baroque singing with Harry van der Kamp at the Academy for Early Music in Bremen . The in-depth study of the music of the Middle Ages resulted in scientific collaboration and music editions with the University of Freiburg in Üechtland .

She completed additional vocal studies with Nancy Argenta (London) and Mariann Block (Amsterdam).

In 1995 she went on maternity leave and left Dulamans Vröudenton , but played in this ensemble again from 1999 to 2012. She is also a member of the " I Febiarmonici " ensemble .
