Marie Remy

Marie Remy (born on November 21, 1829 in Berlin ; died on February 26, 1915 there ) was a German flower and still life painter .

Life

Remy was the daughter of the history and portrait painter Carl Heinrich Friedrich Emil August Remy (1800–1872). She was taught drawing by her father and further trained by Hermine Stilke and the flower and still life painter Theude Grönland . After completing her training, she traveled to England , Paris , Switzerland , Tyrol and Italy .

In 1867 she founded the Association of Berlin Artists together with Clara Oenicke , Rosa Petzel and Clara Heinke . The Nationalgalerie Berlin owns some of her works . Remy taught botanical drawing at the Victoria Lyceum founded by Georgiana Archer and wrote several illustrated books and coloring pages. She died in Berlin on February 26, 1915.

Works by her and her father were among other things to see in 1866 in the 45th art exhibition in the Royal Academy of the Arts in Berlin.
