Douglas Anthony "Doug" Ducey (* 9. April 1964 in Toledo , Ohio ) is an American politician of the Republican Party . He has been the governor of the state of Arizona since January 2015 .

Life

Ducey graduated from Arizona State University . After completing his studies, he worked for the Procter & Gamble group . He later became a partner at Cold Stone Creamery , which he sold with his business partners in 2007. From 2008 to 2012 he worked for the company iMemories . Since January 2011, Ducey was State Treasurer of Arizona. In the 2014 gubernatorial elections , he was the new governor of Arizona against the Democratic politician Fred DuVal with 53 percent of the vote. He was sworn in as the new governor of Arizona on January 5, 2015 as the successor to his party colleague Jan Brewer .

Ducey is married and has three children.
