Charles R. Price
Charles R. Price (born January 26, 1868 in Union Church , Mississippi , † May 31, 1941 in Fort Apache , Arizona ) was an American politician ( Democratic Party ).
Career
Charles R. Price, son of Mary Mahalie Wilkinson and Thomas F. Price, was born in Jefferson County in 1868 . Nothing is known about his youth. He moved from Texas to the Arizona Territory in 1898 . There he went about real estate business. At the turn of the century he joined the volunteer fire department and was active there until his death. He also served in the Arizona National Guard. He took up his first political office in 1925 as Deputy County Treasurer. In 1928 he was elected State Treasurer of Arizona. He held the post from 1929 to 1931. After the end of his tenure, he became Chief County Recorder - a position which he held until 1938. At the time of his death, he was a deputy in the office of WH Lanville, the county treasurer of Maricopa County . He died of a heart attack while on a fishing trip in Apache County . His body was interred in the Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona.
