Jeff DeWit

Jeff DeWit (* 1973 ) is an American businessman and politician ( Republican Party ).

Early years

Jeff DeWit earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Financial Services from the University of Southern California . He found his first job in 1992 with Smith Barney Shearson . DeWit then began working in 1999 as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at a public company called ECHOtrade - a position he held for 14 years.

Political career

DeWit was a Precinct Committeeman and State Committeeman. He went door-to-door collecting signatures and handing out flyers for other Republican candidates. The Arizona Republican Party appointed him chairman of the AZGOP Redistricting Committee.

In 2014 he ran for the post of State Treasurer of Arizona . The post became vacant when fellow party member Doug Ducey took up the post of governor of Arizona. DeWit won the Republican primary. He defeated former Mayor Hugh Hallman and former Arizona Republican party leader Randy Pullen. In the next election in November 2014, he ran without an opponent. He took up his post on January 5, 2015.

DeWit is serving as the campaign manager in Arizona for top Republican candidate Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign .
