Marie Tångeberg

Marie Tångeberg (born Siewertsen , born October 8, 1924 in Marienkoog ) is a North Frisian educator and author.

Life

She is best known for her services to the North Frisian language , including in her role as headmistress at the Risum Skole / Risem Schölj (German: Risumer Schule) in Risum .

The focus of the lessons was originally on promoting the Danish language and culture. In 1956 Tångeberg took over the management of the school, five years later, with the tolerance of representatives of the Danish minority and the Ministry of Culture, she made the school the first Frisian mother tongue school in Germany. Marie Tångeberg wrote several books. They are written in the dialect Mooring , which is spoken in the Bökingharde around Risum-Lindholm .
