Hans Momsen Prize
The Hans Momsen Prize is an honorary award that has been awarded annually by the Nordfriesland district since 1986 to personalities who have made a special contribution to the cultural life in Nordfriesland.
It was donated on October 23, 1985, the 250th birthday of the farmer, mechanic and mathematician Hans Momsen from Fahretoft in North Friesland (1735–1811). The winner is determined by the culture committee of the district council ; the main committee must approve the proposal. The prize is awarded around October 23.
The Hans Momsen Prize consists of a ring of honor and a certificate of honor and is endowed with 2,000 euros.
