reception

His book Science Wars , published in 2004, received positive feedback . The Handelsblatt recommends it as a "convincing analysis of the unfortunate state of university science." The press praised his article Fetish "Money" on the theory of money by Karl Marx and Georg Simmel , both of which were concerned with applying the theory of money in a societal context explain why they are left out in today's reception in this area. The press emphasized the temptation to apply the “ amazing thoughts of Karl Marx to current development trends. "

His work Homo occidentalis received great attention . The Neue Zürcher Zeitung particularly praised the fact that Bammé undertook, in times of short articles in "A-Journals", to create a monumental study of almost 1000 pages. According to Bammé, there are three major turning points in the relationship between humans and humans in their environment. The first is the leap from Greek mythology to philosophy, which he made around 700 BC. . Chr prescribed. The second turning point is the submission of nature to technology, which developed along with the industrial revolution in the early modern period. The third turning point is the reorganization of society under the influence of new media technologies. The NZZ concludes: “ It delivers a big, a very big narrative that integrates philosophy, the history of culture and technology, sociology, cognitive science and much more. "In the Süddeutsche Zeitung, Hans-Martin Lohmann writes about the volume that Bammé's" great story "could be considered a successful example of" what a historical materialistic approach that has since become out of fashion can still achieve today. "
