Marienberg is a district of the city of Burghausen (Upper Bavaria). The hamlet is located about three kilometers southwest of the city center on a high plateau above the Salzach Valley . The place was incorporated into Burghausen in 1978 as part of the Raitenhaslach community .

Attractions

The two-tower pilgrimage church of Maria Queen of the Rosary is visible from afar in Marienberg . It was built between 1760 and 1764 by the Trostberg market mason, Franz Alois Mayr , and is considered one of the most beautiful rococo churches in Bavaria.

Other local monuments are the sacristan's house belonging to the church , the grave of the Baumgartner family and brewery owners from Raitenhaslach, the plague chapel from the 19th century as well as a plague cross and a pillar of honor .
