Building history and description
Previous construction
A chapel existed in Rabber until the beginning of the 20th century . It was a simple, rectangular hall with pointed arched windows and doors in the Gothic style and a roof turret on the western gable. The chapel, consecrated to Mary , was equipped with a complete church inventory. It was demolished in 1902.
New Church
From 1911 to 1912, a new church was built on the same site in the transition between historicism and art nouveau . In order to enable a later extension to the west, the tower was placed on the east side.
A crucifix from the 14th century and a wooden figure of Anna herself with James from around 1500 come from the previous building. The altar from the end of the 16th century, which shows Jesus' Last Supper , was also taken over slightly modified.
The rest of the furnishings come from the time the new church was built. The stained glass on the windows was made by Rudolf Linnemann .
