Rabber is a district of the Lower Saxon community Bad Essen in the district of Osnabrück in Lower Saxony .
geography
Rabber is two kilometers east of the core area of Bad Essen. The B 65 runs through the village . The Hunte flows on the southwestern edge of the village .
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1033. On December 1, 1910, the place had 745 inhabitants. On July 1, 1972, the municipality , which had previously been part of the Wittlage district, was incorporated into the new municipality of Bad Essen as part of the regional reform .
religion
The Marienkirche was built in 1912. Most of the furnishings are contemporary. The old equipment includes:
- a crucifix from the 14th century
- an altar with a communion scene from the end of the 16th century
- a wooden figure of Anna and James from around 1500
The Mariengemeinde Rabber forms together with Barkhausen the parish Barkhausen-Rabber. This has been part of the Bramsche parish since 2013 .
In 1881, an old Lutheran congregation split off from the regional church and founded the Trinity congregation of Rabber, which soon afterwards built its own church in neo-Gothic form. Today the congregation belongs to the Independent Evangelical Lutheran Church .
