It was built around 1760 by Friedrich Ernst Philipp von Grothaus (1734–1772), with whom the line to Krietenstein ended in the male line . The right part of the building is said to contain remains from 1543. On the half-timbered gatehouse, which dates from the 18th century, is the coat of arms of Claus Grothaus / Angel Cath. Pladese.
