Marija Evgenjewna Wassilzowa ( Russian Мария Евгеньевна Васильцова ; born June 22, 1995 in Novosibirsk ) is a Russian snowboarder . She starts in snowboard cross.

Career

Wassilzowa started internationally for the first time in February 2011 at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2011 in Liberec . There she finished 11th. From 2011 to 2015 she took part in the European Cup. She came in the top ten seven times and achieved her best placement in December 2013 with sixth place in Cortina d'Ampezzo . At the beginning of the 2015/16 season, she made her debut in Montafon in the Snowboard World Cup and came third. In the further course of the season she came in the top ten four times in the World Cup and reached eighth place in the Snowboard Cross World Cup at the end of the season. At the Winter X Games 2016 in Aspen , she came 12th. The following season she came in 16th place in the Snowboard Cross World Cup. At the Snowboard World Championships 2017 in Sierra Nevada , she achieved 17th place. She came 18th at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang and 21st at the 2019 Snowboard World Championships in Park City . In early March 2019 she finished fourth at the Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk .
