Marina Tchebourkina ( Russian Марина Николаевна Чебуркина , Marina Nikolajewna Tscheburkina , born March 6, 1965 in Moscow , Soviet Union ) is a Franco-Russian organist and musicologist and is considered a connoisseur of French baroque organ music and an ambassador for Russian organ music.

Life

Marina Tchebourkina studied from 1984 to 1989 at the Moscow P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory . She completed her studies in organ and musicology with summa cum laude . In 1992 she also graduated summa cum laude from the graduate school at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory in the two subjects organ and musicology. From 1992 to 1994 she studied with Marie-Claire Alain , Michel Chapuis and Louis Robilliard in France with the support of the French government , and in Germany with Harald Vogel .

In 1994 she received her doctorate in art history (Ph.D.) with the thesis The Organ Music by Olivier Messiaen ; submitted to the Scientific Council of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory.

From 1996 to 2010 Marina Tchebourkina was organist on the organ of the Palace Chapel of Versailles . Since 2006 she has been a member of the French National Commission for Organ Monuments. In 2010 she became a regular member of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and gives lectures and master classes. She is also active at international scientific conferences, advising on organ building projects and as a jury member at international organ competitions. In 2013 Marina Tchebourkina was appointed Associate Researcher at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne as head of the “Organ, Arts and Sciences” program.

In 2013 she completed her habilitation on the subject: French baroque organ art: music, organ building, interpretation ; submitted to the Scientific Council of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory.

Marina Tchebourkina interprets organ music from different stylistic epochs, often from the two subject areas “Royal organists and their contemporaries” and “Russian organ music”. She gives world premieres by contemporary Russian composers and unknown French baroque masterpieces.
