Mario Beger

Mario Beger (born June 11, 1966 in Großenhain ) is a German politician (AfD). He is chairman of the Meißen district association of the alternative for Germany and has been a member of the Saxon state parliament since 2014 .

Life

After finishing the polytechnic high school, Beger completed vocational training as a tile, slab and mosaic layer , which he completed in 1985. Beger was sentenced to 18 months in prison by the GDR judiciary for “attempting to cross the border illegally ” and was given an amnesty in 1989. In 1994 he passed the master craftsman examination at the Dresden Chamber of Crafts . In 2002 he obtained a degree in business administration from the craft academy in Dresden . In 2011 he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the Zittau / Görlitz University of Applied Sciences . Beger works in a natural stone trading company .

Mario Beger is divorced, has a son and lives in Großenhain .

Beger joined the newly founded party Alternative für Deutschland in March 2013 and was elected chairman of the Meissen district association in November. As a list candidate, he was elected to the Saxon state parliament in 2014. There he sits on the Evaluation Committee and the Europe Committee. He is also the political group's spokesman for economic policy and was co-founder of the AfD-Mittelstandsform in Saxony in 2016. Since 2019 he has also had a seat on the city council of Großenhain. In the state elections in Saxony in 2019 , Beger is running for 7th place on the list.

In a presentation by the AfD MPs newly elected to the Saxon state parliament, Die Zeit noted : "Beger runs a Facebook page on which he incites against the" FRG regime "and links texts on conspiracy theory ."

When asked about the topic of “ national pride” , Beger told the ZDF magazine Frontal21 : “I already have it, yes. And you don't need to be ashamed of it. [...] That is my honest opinion [...] And it is very important that we have an identity, we Germans. I mean, what happened 70 years ago, we don't need to plead guilty for that. So what they did back then ”.

In May 2018, Beger was reprimanded in the state parliament and withdrawn from him when he sang his lecture and did not stop after being asked.
