Mario Boljat (born August 31, 1951 in Split , Yugoslavia ) is a former Yugoslav football player on the position of defender .
Boljat belonged to the so-called "golden generation" of the 1970s of the Hajduk Split club and is one of only five players (the others are Mićun Jovanić , Ivica Matković , Dražen Mužinić and Luka Peruzović ) who won all four championship titles with Hajduk during this period won.
After ten years at Hajduk, Boljat and Vilson Džoni were brought to FC Schalke 04 by Günter Siebert at the beginning of the 1979/80 season , who, in addition to the two Yugoslavs, also brought striker Manfred Drexler and the experienced Norbert Nigbur into the Schalke team. Mario Boljat was unable to prevail in the Bundesliga and left the club after six months and only nine games.
