Life

The bearded, heavyweight actor was regularly used as a supporting actor in the Spaghetti Western and often took on villain roles in this genre. After a brief debut in 1947, from 1958 he took on regular and permanent roles. For director Sergio Leone , the always very grim-looking, but also ironic actor appeared in 1964 in For a Fistful of Dollars (as Chico), For a Few Dollars More (1965, as Nino) and in Two Glorious Scoundrels (1966). In the latter he played his most famous role as the sadistic torturer Wallace. In later years, Brega appeared in smaller roles in the films Mein Name ist Nobody (1973) and Once Upon a Time in America (1984), which were produced and directed by Leone. A frequent collaboration with Carlo Verdone enabled Brega in the 1980s to make some interpretations that were psychologically more differentiated.

In some films, Brega also appeared under the pseudonyms M. Braga and Richard Stuyvesant .
