Inexorably to the grave (original title: Se t'incontro t'ammazzo ) is a spaghetti western , the Gianni Crea 1971 staged. It is considered one of the worst films of its kind and was premiered on video cassette in German-speaking countries.

action

Jack Forrester finds his parents' farm burned down and his father murdered; a work of the mysterious Grandel, who hired the bandit Dexter to do it. Jack seeks revenge and pursues Dexter, who has meanwhile taken possession of a golden carriage. The two men duel; Jack can take out Dexter, but does not find out who or where Grandel is.

In his further search, Jack is seduced by Lisa, the niece of a certain Parker, who has founded a finance company with the troubled Olsen. Parker, outwardly peaceful and amiable, kills his partner with a pickaxe when the latter appears to reveal his, Parker's, identity with Grandel; then he tries by all means to get his hands on the gold coach.

Jack arrives at Parker / Grandel; with him a mysterious character who finally kills the villain and turns out to be Jack's brother Chris.

criticism

“Crea's first western (parts of it were reused in his later works) might be his best, but that doesn't mean much. Only the closing punch of this below-average work can claim originality. "

Genre expert Christian Keßler about the film: “The script is pretty unbelievable and sometimes doesn't make any sense at all. The dialogues are completely outrageous, but are recited with religious devotion. (...) Every scene is bad - every scene is absolutely worth seeing. "

Remarks

The film was made in and around Rome; Exterior shots were filmed in Gordon Mitchell's Cave Studios , among others .
