Mario Waldow (born September 22, 1966 ) is a former German soccer player .
Athletic career
Club and association stations
In the summer of 1985, Mario Waldow moved from the youth department of the BFC Dynamo to the second representation of the Weinroten, after he had already made three appearances in this team in 1984/85 in his last year with the BFC Juniors . In his first full season in men's football, he won the relay championship in the second-class league with BFC Dynamo II . A promotion was not possible due to the presence of the first team of the BFC in the league . A year before the second team of the BFC Dynamo was dissolved, the 1.87 meter tall defensive player, who could not fight for a place in the top division team of the then subscriber champion, went to SG Dynamo Fürstenwalde , at the Waldow for a year and a half - also in the league season A - was one of the permanent staff. In his first season for Fürstenwalde, the Dynamo-Elf only missed promotion to the league because of the poorer goal difference against BSG Stahl Eisenhüttenstadt . In the turning winter of 1989/90 he personally made the leap into the upper house of East German football by moving from Fürstenwalde to the promotion rivals from the previous spring. For the Stahlstädter, operating as Eisenhüttenstädter FC Stahl from summer 1990, the 23-year-old Waldow made his league debut in the second half of the 1989/90 season. On matchday 15 he was used for the first time in a 2-2 draw in the home game against FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt . In this and the following season , Waldow played ten games in the top division.
In the first all-German season after reunification , Waldow played for 1. FC Union Berlin . In the third-class amateur league he succeeded with the team from the Alte Försterei in the 1991/92 season, the relay victory . In the subsequent promotion round , the iron team was the last in Group 2 but could not prevail in the fight for the 2nd Bundesliga . From the summer of 1992, Waldow was under contract with the former West Berlin clubs FC Hertha 03 Zehlendorf and Reinickendorfer Füchse BTSV 1891 in the amateur Oberliga Nordost and after their reintroduction in the Regionalliga-Nordost .
Selection bets
Waldow ran in eleven games for the U-18 of the GDR . With the East German juniors, who were coached by Walter Fritzsch at the time, he finished 7th in the youth competition of friendship in the summer of 1984 with a 4-0 win against his Romanian peers at the end of the round for 5th to 8th place.
