Marion Limal (born January 12, 1987 in Fontaine-lès-Dijon , France ) is a former French handball player who was part of the squad of the French national team.

Career

In the club

Marion Limal played handball at SHBC La Motte Servolex from 2001. Four years later, the backcourt player Entente Sportive Bisontine Féminin joined. In the summer of 2009 she moved to the Austrian first division club Hypo Niederösterreich . With Hypo, she won both the Austrian championship and the ÖHB Cup in 2010 and 2011 .

Limal was under contract with the French first division team Metz Handball in the 2011/12 season . Then she ran on for the league competitor Handball Cercle Nîmes . With handball Cercle Nîmes, she failed in the final of the League Cup in 2013 at Issy Paris Hand . In 2014 Limal moved to the French second division side Brest Bretagne Handball . With Brest, she rose to the top French league in 2016. She also won the French Cup with Brest in 2016 and 2018. After the 2018/19 season, she ended her career.

In selection teams

Marion Limal made her debut for the French national team on October 14, 2008. At the 2009 World Cup , she won the silver medal with France. At the next World Cup , she initially only belonged to the expanded French squad. After Allison Pineau injured himself in the semifinals, Limal moved up for the final. Also in the 2011 World Cup final, she lost to France. In total, she played 51 international matches.

Limal also ran for the French national beach handball team. At the Beachhandball Euro 2017 she took 9th place with France and 13th place at the Beachhandball Euro 2019 .
