Marios Batis ( Greek Μάριος Μπατής , born June 20, 1980 in Keratsini ) is a Greek basketball player who is 1.91 m tall and is used in the positions of point guard or shooting guard .

Career

Batis learned to play basketball in the youth department of Faros Keratsiniou before starting his professional career at Panionios Athens in 1999 . The Guard made his debut in the A1 Ethniki on October 3, 1999 in the 80:53 victory over Sporting Athens , in which he contributed his first two points.

For the 2003/04 season he then moved to the league competitor Irakleio in Crete , but the team did not manage to keep the class and it was relegated to the A2 Ethniki . Batis moved to Near East BC within the A2 Ethniki . After only one season he left the team from Kesariani again and joined, again within the A2 Ethniki, Ilisiakos Athens , for which he should then play for two years. When his contract expired, Olympia Larisa brought him back to the A1 Ethniki for the 2007/08 season. In the summer of 2009, his move to GS Marousi was announced. Batis played with Marousi in the Euroleague , but retired with his team in the second round, in the championship Marousi again reached third place. However, Batis moved back to Panionios and played there for another four years. At this time, the teams of Aris Saloniki and Olympiacos Piraeus also showed increased interest in the Guard, but Batis extended a contract with Panionios.

For the 2014/15 season , the Guard declared that they wanted to leave the Athens club, although he would have liked to continue his involvement with Panionios, but did not see his team strong enough for the upcoming season to keep the class. Batis moved to Apollon Patras , where he was honored on February 18, 2015, the 17th matchday, for his 300th game in the A1 Ethniki. For personal reasons, the Guard asked in summer 2015 to terminate his current contract with Apollon. The club Faros Keratsiniou, which had been promoted to the A2 Ethniki for the 2015/16 season, then offered Batis an offer, which Batis refused and entered into negotiations with the Koroivos . Shortly before an agreement, Faros improved his offer and Batis decided against Koroivos and rejoined his youth club. After Batis had completed his contract in the summer of 2017, he moved to the third division, Beta Ethniki, and joined the Ionikos Nikaias Barista Brothers .
