Marita the farmer

Marita Bäuerlein (born August 13, 1944 in Würzburg ) is a former German teacher, politician (CSU) and member of the state parliament. She was the German Wine Queen in 1964/1965 .

Bäuerlein, the daughter of a farmer and winemaker, grew up on Gut Strehlhof near Volkach , attended secondary school and graduated with intermediate school leaving certificate. She then trained as a clerk and worked as an apprentice in her parents' company for a year. This was followed by a second training as a specialist teacher in elementary schools in works and drawing. In 1963 she was elected Franconian Wine Queen , building on that she was named German Wine Queen in 1964. As part of this, she undertook several trips abroad to promote German wine. After her time as the wine queen, she continued her education, which she completed in 1970 with the teaching examination; most recently she worked in the school service in Schweinfurt . She also went into politics: In the state elections in 1970 she ran successfully on the constituency list of the CSU in Lower Franconia and belonged to the Bavarian state parliament for an electoral period until 1974.
