Marita Kruger

Marita Karin Krüger (* 1950 in Rudolstadt as Marita Mittag) is a retired German Protestant theologian and provost . She was senior church councilor in the southern supervisory district of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Thuringia , regional bishop of the Propstsprengels Meiningen-Suhl and deputy bishop of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany (EKM).

Life

Marita Krüger was born in Rudolstadt, East Thuringia, in 1950. After completing the 10th grade of the Polytechnic Oberschule (POS), she completed an apprenticeship as a library worker at the Jena University Library . After graduating from a community college , she began studying theology. After successfully completing her studies, she held vicariate and pastoral positions in Hermsdorf (Thuringia) , Stotternheim ( Erfurt ) and Saalfeld . In Saalfeld, Marita Krüger also carried out the function of superintendent . On July 1, 1998 she was elected senior church councilor and visitor for the southern supervisory district of the Evangelical Church in Thuringia, based in Meiningen . When the EKM was founded in 2009, she became regional bishop in the district of Meiningen-Suhl. In November 2011, the regional synod of the EKM elected her permanent deputy to the regional bishop Ilse Junkermann .

Marita Krüger retired on April 1st, 2013. Their farewell took place on March 24, 2013 with a festive service in the Meiningen town church in the presence of Bishop Ilse Junkermann. Her successor as regional bishop was Pastor Kristina Kühnbaum-Schmidt from Sickte . Marita Krüger lives in Meiningen , is married and has a grown daughter.
