Marius Nichiteanu

Marius Nichiteanu (* 3. July 1958 in Nucet , county Dambovita , Romania ; † 5. March 2014 in Hamburg ) was a Romanian violist and since 1989 the first solo - violist of the NDR Symphony Orchestra .

Life

After visiting the Music High School George Enescu in Bucharest, he studied at the National Music University of Bucharest in the master class of Stefan Gheorghiu and Cornelia Bronzetti . In 1980 Nichiteanu was a laureate of the Carl-Nielsen-Musikakademie in Odense as well as 2nd laureate in the competition of the 1983 international viola competition "Maurice Vieux" (Concours International d'Alto Maurice Vieux) in Paris. During his career he toured the world as a chamber musician with the Trio Inorog.

Marius Nichiteanu was appointed professor at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater in 1994 .
