Marjatta Kajosmaa (born February 3, 1938 in Vehkalahti ) is a former Finnish cross-country skier .
Career
Marjatta Kajosmaa was at the Olympic Winter Games in Grenoble in 1968 fifth over 5 km and 10 km and fourth with the relay. The following year she won the 5 km run and the 10 km run for the first time at the Holmenkollen Ski Festival . In March 1969 she won third place over 10 km at the Lahti Ski Games . From 1969 to 1972 she was athlete of the year in Finland four times in a row . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1970 in Vysoké Tatry , she won the bronze medal with the relay and the silver medal over 10 km. In addition, she achieved fourth place over 5 km there. In the same year she won the Lahti Ski Games with the relay and also took second place over 10 km. In 1971 she triumphed again at the Holmenkollen Ski Festival in the 10 km run and received the Holmenkollen Medal for it . In March 1971 she was third over 10 km and second in the relay at the Lahti Ski Games. At the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo , she won the bronze medal over 10 km and the silver medal over 5 km and with the relay. In 1972 and 1973 she won the Holmenkollen Ski Festival over 5 km and over 10 km. In 1973 she also won the Svenska Skidspelen over 10 km and second place with the relay. In early March 1973 she won the Lahti Ski Games with the relay and took second place over 10 km. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1974 in Falun she came in fourth place with the relay and at the Lahti Ski Games in third place with the relay. The following year she ran at the Lahti Ski Games with the relay in second place. At the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck , she won the silver medal with the relay. In the individual races she finished 11th over 10 km and ninth place over 5 km. In March 1976, she took third place with the relay at the Lahti Ski Games.
