Mark A. Mangini (* before 1976 in Boston , Massachusetts ) is an American sound engineer .

Life

Mangini began his career in 1976 at the Hanna Barbera Studios, where he worked on sound effects for cartoons. His film debut was Star Trek: The Movie , the first of several Star Trek films with his participation. For his work on the science fiction film Star Trek IV: Back to the Present , he was nominated for the first time in 1987 for an Oscar in the category Best Sound Editing . 1993 took place a second Oscar nomination for Disney - Cartoons Aladdin and 1998 , he worked for The Fifth Element oscar nominated. With his fourth nomination (together with David White ) he was able to win the 2016 award for Mad Max: Fury Road for the first time. He was also nominated for the film for the BAFTA Film Award in the Best Sound category.
